Moving along with the… Why Beginners Marketing Class?

By Chuck Bartok | September 23, 2007

I dropped everyone off the other day( 09-20-07) in the middle of my early Sailing experience, and most probably said, “What does this have to do with On-Line or Off-line Business development”.

Well, the current Global Business Climate is in huge transition and the millions are seeking alternative Income Producing Opportunities. The Internet has exploded these opportunities for the Good and the Bad.

Well enough fluff. When I entered the Internet world a couple of years ago and started to meet people through Networks (Web 2.0 venues) and listened to the countless stories of ambition gone sour…….money lost, and disappointment……

The story was repeated over and over. Most were lured into the dreams of Huge Incomes, Returns for little, to no, effort….

But no one emphasized the Preparation and the Journey…

So back to my little Penquin Sailboat.

I read up all winter on sailing small boats in protected bodies of water, while I was re-finishing the well-worn little craft.

I was gathering my Provisons. I also needed to research and find missing parts, or being on a very small, 13 year-old budget, I had to improvise.

Before anyone considers Embarking on a Voyage of in the Business World, you would think they would:

  1. Chose a Venue they had knowledge or a Passion for.
  2. Spend Time & Energy studying the How-TO….
  3. Inventory existing Tools & Systems and decide what else is needed.
  4. Plan a workable Budget and forecast Cash Flow.
  5. Develop a Network of like minded people to share ideas (Master-Mind).
  6. The move forward with a burning desire and positive attitude
  7. And finally, be ready to sacrifice and apply Massive Action to get the Ship moving away from the Dock.

Again where are we in this story??

Well, my experience with “Petit Fluer” taught me the fundamentals of establishing a Business….my business was to become a Professional Sailor.

Race magnificent Yachts across the Pacific and bask in the warm Tropical sun, sipping whatever those fancy drinks were……

BUT I had to Start somewhere and I chose circumstances I could manage with my RESOURCES, my Bill of Lading.

As mentioned earlier, there come a time you have to launch the Ship and Weigh Anchor.

The outcome of my first Voyage was a hoot! Want to know more now?

Shirley is calling for BBQ pork ribs and the Horses need Feeding.
I’ll be Back and share the excitement

If they would tell you about all the preparation involved, the time you have to put on (that you can’t devote to other things), all the testing and changing and continue learning, I guess they wouldn’t be selling as many products!! Haha!

Great post Chuck, keep writing, your work is very good

Good tips, i like the way that you think about online success. If people tell you that it’s easy, they don’t know what there are talking about. Work out a plan, know what you are in for and then go for it.
